Make no mistake, after your first visit Bravo Café Concert will be your new neighborhood hang--well, on Saturday afternoons, anyway. Catering primarily to area blue-collar clientele, this more-than-a-café is open days until 6, and offers grub for every possible mood. The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is friendlier than possibly any establishment I've been to in New York. Serving breakfast and lunch, their sandwich menu alone will send you in to high indecision mode--"Do I want the Cuba Hero, or the Triple Inferno? The Chicken Messina or the Ecuadorian?" Arrive early and get pancakes or French toast, or try the incredible yogurt muffins, my personal favorite. After you've finally made your selection, the skylight in back will lure you to sit and contemplate the day away. I'll even spare Bravo Café the technicality of being one block into Ridgewood. If real estate agents can fudge the line, so can I. Their early closing time tempts me to fire my day job just so I can eat there more than once a week.
