RestaurantNortheast Kingdom There's good upstate and there's bad upstate. At Northeast Kingdom they serve good upstate. This is the kind of place you might hit after a wild week of backpacking in the Adirondack mountains: swimming in freezing lakes, kayaking and climbing mountains, reaching the top to stare at more mountains popping out of glassy lakes. You get back in your car and, before making the return trip to whatever you'd just escaped from, catch the itch for something both rustic and comforting. Northeast Kingdom is like this, except that it's at Troutman and Wyckoff in the middle of Bushwick. And when they're closed, the whole facade and signs are hidden by shutters, so that you wouldn't know it's there. Otherwise they kind of stick out. The interior is set with high-backed wooden booths and gorgeous wood tables. The wine is nice: good table red; cheap. I had the lamb stew--it was like a classy Dinty Moore (and I mean that in a very good way). She had the rosemary baked chicken w/ asparagus. Looked pretty good. The staff was super friendly and our whole time there had a really nice and relaxed pace. The regular menu is short, though there are always a variety of specials. We say go. Submit Your Review:
